Exhibiton space and project

We are organizing or end of year exhibition and we are currently investigating locations and the use of several alternative spaces.
I'm thinking for the exhibition depending on the space we use to tweak a version of my project for the space. I like the interaction idea of a space and thought the punch card aspect could be interesting part to explore. The full spectrum of my work i was thinking of exhibiting it with my fibers group in the VAV. The shows will both be in the same month (april) so maybe they can link in a way.
I need to think how does the space inform my work and what would this remote link to both exhibits mean????

Looking for a punch card machine that isn't too expensive. Office supply stores have them for about 250. I found one on ebay Will keep searching i'm bound to find one someplace. Maybe a place that sells used office equipment... The hunt is on!

Yeah! Got a 200$ FASA grant for my Project. This will help in all that fabric i need to buy for the uniforms. I can search for something close to what i used in the sample. Very exciting.

Some Fascism research

I've been trying to read this book by Philip Morgan. It's informative but so very boring to read. I'm going to keep at it but in my impatience i decided to loo up some documentries from the time. I found one called Mussolini; Italy's nightmare from biographies.
This gave me a quick overview understanding of what was going on in Italy and how fascism happened.
It's sad what an insecure bully can do to an entire nation. My opinion aside I do find documentaries with their images and first person interviews very informative. Will be looking for more footage and perhaps some actual films inspired by that era as well.

I have just discovered and artist named Lin Tianmiao. first time i come across an artist who seems to deal in similart ideas. her use of sewing impliments and thread is is in creadible while using video projections. I'm very excited about her work and am hoping to find more information about her. Thanks to a tiny blurb in the New Yorker. Link to her exhibit in NYC, Bound Unbound: Lin Tianmiao.

I've started sketching today just to get something started. I also bought some water soluble fabric i want to start experimenting with. We'll see what comes of it. I'll need to do research to really inspire me so hoping to accomplish lots of that as well today.
